2024 Competitor Registration

Beaver Creek's 20th Annual Cookie Competition celebrates our world-famous chocolate chip cookie tradition with an Opening Day cookie extravaganza. Five finalists will have their cookies available for tasting and guests will vote on their favorite. 

• 1st Place $2000 cash + "Champion" embroidered apron and toque.
• 2nd Place $1000 cash prize
• 3rd Place $500 cash prize
• 4th Place $250 cash prize
• 5th Place $100 cash prize

*Our top five finalists will receive an additional $200 reimbursement for their ingredients. 

Step 1: Register here to be a preliminary competitor

Step 2: Bake 1 dozen cookies and package in plain packaging to be shipped or delivered.  

Step 3: Entries to be delivered or mailed to Beaver Creek Resort Company offices to arrive between October 7th-11th.  Address provided below.

No entries will be accepted after 5:00 pm October 11, 2024.  

Cookies will be judged by Beaver Creek Resort Company board members & various staff on Monday, October 14th. 

The top five finalists will be notified no later than October 16, 2024.

3. Appearance 20%
4. Creativity 10%

Rules and Regulations

Anyone is eligible to submit cookie and recipe for judging

In order to participate in the Beaver Creek World’s Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition, you must:

• First fill out the submission form below with your information. Submitting this form gives Beaver Creek Resort the right to publish your recipe if you’re chosen as a finalist. 
• After you’ve submitted the entry form, you must bake 1 dozen cookies and drop them off or ship them to the Beaver Creek Resort Company Offices  Please indicate the entry name from the submission form with the corresponding batch of cookies entered for the preliminary round of judging.  
  • Preliminary judging committee will narrow down the finalists. Participants will be notified if they were selected for the final competition by Wednesday, October 16, 2024. 
  • Judging Criteria: Taste (50%); Appearance (20%); Texture (20%); Creativity (10%)           
  • No decorative or special packaging please. Cookies are judged solely on the criteria above. 
• If you’re chosen as a finalist you MUST be present for the final competition.
  • Anyone is eligible to submit cookies  for judging (national and local chefs, amateur teams, individuals, etc.)
  • Cookies MUST be chocolate chip cookies, NO PEANUT BUTTER OR NUTS, maximum size: 4 inches in diameter (for preliminary judging).
    

Final Competition: Opening Day, Wednesday November 27th 1:00-5:00 PM  

• Finalist must prepare and bring 1,020 mini sample size cookies (maximum size: 2”inch diameter, may be smaller) for final competition.
• Finalist are responsible for baking and delivery of cookies to his/her booth space.
• Finalists will be assigned a color to distinguish themselves.  Decorations and flair at your booth are encouraged. 
• Winning cookie will be named the “ Beaver Creek Best Chocolate Chip Cookie” for the 2024/25 winter season.
